Dangerous cold continues across Chicago through Saturday, with snow arriving this weekend and road conditions likely worsening into early next week.

Major cities across the Northeast and Midwest are facing temperatures 10-20 degrees below average, according to forecasters.

As a warmer wedge of air works its way into the atmosphere towards our south and east, a bit of sleet could mix into parts of the Southern Poconos by the end of the storm. Regardless of a mix at the end, snowfall amounts will halt travel everywhere.
Monday is also a First Alert Day as morning wind chill values are expected to be around -30. High temperatures on Monday afternoon may reach the double digits above zero for the first time in several days.
