His more famous counterpart, Punxsutawney Phil, also predicted more winter ahead from rural Pennsylvania, The Associated Press reported.

With the possibility snow in a large part of metro Atlanta and North Georgia on Saturday, many events and church services are expected to be canceled.

Snow began falling in metro Atlanta on Saturday morning with the National Weather Service predicting that some parts of the region could see several inches of accumulation before it's through.

Snow totals will be highest in northeast Georgia, where 6"+ is possible in higher elevations. For Atlanta and the inner metro, 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible.
