The Auburn Tigers kick off on a rare Friday night in their season opener, and it has changed how they're doing business on The Plains.

Singleton was the first player up when Auburn repped punt returns. Simmons also took reps at punt returner. Jared Smith and Malik Autry stood out physically among the freshmen. Both players practiced during the spring, but Autry’s size and Smith’s length were both impressive on day one.

Competition for Auburn 's quarterback, offensive line, and wide receivers are pretty much settled as fall camp begins this week. However, Auburn's running back room is wide open following the departure of Jarquez Hunter to the NFL.
