In Venice, little is as it seems. The 200-plus guests of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos, very few of whom can play second fiddle, still somehow managed the challenge.

The couple’s three-day event included a private ceremony Friday with 200 celebrity guests, such as Oprah Winfrey and Leonardo DiCaprio. Protesters accused Bezos of “greenwashing” after his donation to environmental groups.

The three-day gala will culminate with the closing party in a former medieval shipyard where Lady Gaga and Elton John are expected to perform.
