It marks her second consecutive French Open final. The win comes after she opened up about her friendship with Carlos Alcaraz, who won the title last year.

On the women’s side, both Sabalenka and Gauff have had a mostly charmed run through the draw at Roland-Garros, with Sabalenka looking momentarily flummoxed by the three-time defending champion Iga Swiatek before swinging for the fences in their third set and dominating.
