The Boston Celtics and coach Joe Mazzulla have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced on Friday. Mazzulla enters his fourth year on the job as he looks for a second NBA title after leading the Celtics to their 18th franchise championship in 2024.

For the Celtics, the past few months have been fairly depressing, though predictable. The team has used this offseason not as a way to vault back into championship contention in 2025-26, but rather to undo the title team it put forth in 2024.

The Celtics have signed coach Joe Mazzulla to a multiyear contract extension. Mazzulla has won at least 57 games in each of his three seasons in Boston as well as the 2023-24 NBA title.
