(Reuters) -Inter Milan appointed Cristian Chivu as coach on Monday in place of Simone Inzaghi who left following the Italian side's 5-0 Champions League final loss to Paris St Germain, with their former player signing a two-year deal.

Champions League runners-up Inter Milan have appointed Parma boss Cristian Chivu as manager. The 44-year-old, a former defender and youth team coach at Inter, leaves Parma after only 13 games in charge and replaces Simone Inzaghi.

Inter Milan has appointed Cristian Chivu as coach despite his relative inexperience and he will hope to be as successful as he was in his playing career with the Nerazzurri.
