An Israeli air strike targeted a gathering of security forces near the police headquarters in the centre of Sweida city, two hours after another gathering near another government building was struck, resulting in deaths and injuries, according to local news agency Sweida24.
A leading Druze spiritual leader accused the Syrian leadership in Damascus of bombarding the southern city of Sweida despite having reached an agreement to quell violence, and he called on fighters to confront Syrian troops entering the city.
