Customer and teen employee identified as fatal victims from Elkhart Martin's shooting
ELKHART — A Martin's employee and a customer were identified as two people who died from a shooting at Martin's Super Market on Monday.

The other victim is 49-year-old Benjamin Jeffery, who was shopping with his wife at Martin's Monday evening. "He'd give you the shirt off his back whether it fit or not. That's Ben," said Jennifer Tobey, executive director for Elkhart County Emergency Management.

UPDATE (7:24 p.m.) The Elkhart Police Department has confirmed that five people have been shot at the Martin's Supermarket in Elkhart. Three people have been confirmed killed, one of which includes the suspect. Two officers were shot and are in stable condition at the hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office identified the two people killed in the grocery: Benjamin S. Jeffery, 49, and Annasue Rocha, 19, both of Elkhart. Rocha worked at Martin’s, and Jeffery was a customer in the grocery.
Community Foundation of Elkhart County to help those impacted by Martin’s shooting
The foundation has already begun collecting money through its Community Crisis Fund, which was first created back in 2007. Foundation President Pete McCown says the money will not go directly to victims at this time, but it will be given to other groups who will then use the money to help those impacted by the shooting.
