Our next storm system arrives late Tuesday into Wednesday. That system will provide most hometowns with the next best chance of rain and storms. Short-range, high-resolution models show a line of possibly strong to severe storms. We’ll watch that part of the forecast closely. As of now, here are the main concerns Tuesday night into Wednesday.
In addition to the rain on Tuesday, we will also see a return of gusty winds. Winds could gust as high as around 40 MPH. Winds will remain somewhat breezy early on Wednesday, but they should calm down as rain subsides throughout the day.
Lots of clouds to start Monday with nothing more than a sprinkle. Clouds will slowly clear midday into the afternoon. Clear skies tonight will allow temps to drop into the 30s for much of the region.
We’re giving you the First Alert to a warm start to the work week. Our forecast this week looks rather dry with only a couple small chances for afternoon showers and storms.
The Northwest San Juan Mountains, Southwest San Juan Mountains, Gore and Elk Mountains/Central Mountain Valleys, Grand and Battlement Mesas, West Elk Mountains, and Sawatch Mountains. Those areas are looking at snow accumulations of 5-10 inches and wind gusts up to 45 mph.

An upper level low that enhanced showers over the weekend is weakening and drifting away, but we have a First Alert for another similar system that’s forecast to move in over the western islands late Wednesday, bringing a higher chance of showers for the latter part of the week.
By Wednesday the front is expected to move through and that’s when we’ll notice lower humidity with northerly winds. Daytime highs are still likely to remain quite warm all through the week, but at least the air will be drier. The other change will be cooler morning lows; They may drop down into the 60’s on Wednesday and Thursday night.
HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - A few clouds will be with us for this evening as it will be warm to start with temperatures in the 70s. Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies will be with us for the overnight, as it will be pleasant with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
