Everyone's favorite animatronic killers are back and cuter than ever.
Director Emma Tammi, along with stars Josh Hutcherson and Skeet Ulrich, screened an opening scene for the sequel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Ready for round two? Freddy Fazbear and his maniacal gang of animatronic pals are back to play and slay and they’re bringing with them Freddy Carter Blumhouse/Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. The Masters of the Air thespian’s casting was confirmed today in a clip shown during the pic’s Hall H San Diego Comic-Con presentation.
Lillard and Ulrich memorably played the original two Ghostface killers, Stu Macher and Billy Loomis, in the original 1996 Scream. Ulrich reprised his role (in imaginary ghost form) in 2022's Scream and 2023's Scream VI, and Lillard is set to return to the franchise for the first time in the upcoming Scream VII.
"It’s rare that you get to be apart of something that so many people connect to,” actor Josh Hutcherson said of appearing in the popular franchise that has its own rabid fanbase.
