Texas Republicans are powering ahead with a strategy backed by President Donald Trump to seize control of multiple Democratic seats ahead of next year’s midterms by redrawing the state’s congressional map.

Texas state Republicans on Wednesday released a new draft congressional map, which makes significant changes to Democratic-held districts.

If the map is approved and no members move districts, the new boundaries set the stage for half a dozen incumbent-on-incumbent matchups next year.
