Alabama won a recruiting battle against K-State and Nebraska for Ross when he signed with the Crimson Tide. But he held a total of 25 scholarship offers. The Wildcats clearly made an impression on him during the recruiting process, because he quickly chose them when he began exploring his options as a transfer.

Kansas State football landed transfer linebacker Jayshawn Ross from Alabama on Tuesday. Ross, a top 150 transfer, was a standout edge rusher at Liberty North and recorded 15 sacks in his senior season.

Alabama freshman linebacker Jayshawn Ross is transferring to Kansas State. Ross was a member of Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class. The native of Kansas City, Missouri played in one game for the Crimson Tide but did not record any stats.

The 6-foot-6 and 320-pound blocker figures to be an important addition for K-State, because he plays an important position. The Wildcats need to add veteran talent to their offensive line after bidding farewell to Hadley Panzer, Carver Willis and Easton Kilty up front.

After having entered the transfer portal earlier this month, Alabama Crimson Tide true freshman outside linebacker Jayshawn Ross has now announced an official commitment to the Kansas State Wildcats.

Gabe Ervin, a 6-foot-1 and 220-pound, running back was the first to commit to K-State. Ervin entered the portal as a graduate transfer and will continue his college football career in Manhattan, where the Wildcats will look to use him as a power runner.

Not only did Kansas State football (9-4, 5-4 Big 12) end its season on a high note with a 44-41 Rate Bowl win over Rutgers, but it’s also cooking in the transfer portal. That continued on Tuesday, as the Wildcats landed EDGE Jayshawn Ross out of Alabama,
