Demonstrators flooded Los Angeles streets and freeways Sunday near a protest at the Metropolitan Detention Center following a declaration by the Los Angeles Police Department that the assembly was "unlawful.

Trump has said he is deploying 2,000 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles to quell the protests, which he called “a form of rebellion.”

On Sunday, President Trump deployed the military to face off against thousands of people protesting immigration raids. The confrontation took place outside the Metropolitan Detention Center and included around 300 National Guard troops who lined up with riot shields and fired tear gas at protesters.
