LAKE CUSHMAN, Wash. — The Bear Gulch wildfire next to Lake Cushman is now more than 3,000 acres and 3% contained, according to officials. The fire began July 6 and is believed to be human-caused. Hanging moss is carrying the fire through the tree canopy, with embers starting spot fires.

The Bear Gulch Fire burning near Lake Cushman is growing and firefighters are struggling to contain it. It’s now almost 2,000 acres, and it’s only about 3% contained – down from 10% earlier this week.
