Liverpool's 24-match unbeaten run has come to an end in the most unlikely fashion losing 1-0 to Tottenham in the first leg of the EFL Cup semifinal behind a goal from Lucas Bergvall. With the goal, Bergvall has become the youngest player to score for Tottenham in the EFL Cup since Gareth Bale in September of 2007.

Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall opened his Tottenham Hotspur account in thrilling fashion with the winner in Wednesday's League Cup semi-final first leg but should not even have been on the pitch according to Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

Lucas Bergvall earned Tottenham a slim lead over Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. A match lacking in talking points will be overshadowed by the injury to Rodrigo Bentancur who collapsed in the early stages of the first half and needed to be subbed off the pitch and taken to hospital.
