Malachi Nelson, one of the most highly touted transfer recruits in UTEP football history, has officially been named the Miners’ starting quarterback. ESPN’s Pete Thamel was first to report. UTEP head coach Scotty Walden announced his decision to start Nelson after practice on Thursday.
