In July, Mars pushed back on Kennedy’s initiative and refrained from joining a group of major food companies like Nestle, Kraft Heinz, General Mills and PepsiCo, who agreed to voluntarily remove synthetic dyes from their products, FOX Business reported.

The candy giant stopped short of pledging to transition its entire portfolio to natural colors, though said it will offer options under some of its biggest brands.

Food giant Mars, Greater Washington's largest private company, will begin offering some of its big-name candy products with natural coloring starting next year.
