Four major New York cities set record daily snowfall totals Sunday as a massive storm dumped more than a foot of snow in some parts of the Empire State.
A major winter storm is currently affecting New York, bringing heavy snow, sleet and strong winds across much of the state.
Snow was piled up in Times Square on January 26, after a brutal winter storm did not spare New York City over the weekend.Footage recorded by Miglena Dimitrova shows the snow piled up between cleared paths.
The latest forecast puts Central Park at 12 inches of snow, and that’s still the highest snowfall seen there in several years. The last time New York’s weather station in the park saw more than a foot of snow from a single storm was in 2021.

Johnson, a state Department of Transportation employee, was working Friday to clear snow and widen snowbanks along roads in the Town of Boylston during a recent lake-effect snowstorm. He asked a co-worker to snap a quick photo of him standing beside the towering wall of snow.
