Smith and Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby were seen making obscene gestures toward Seahawks fans as they entered the field Thursday night for their preseason game. The gestures — giving the fans the double bird — were similar to what Lions safety Brian Branch was fined for last November in a game against the Packers.

The Raiders’ first preseason game marked the return of Pete Carroll, the Seahawks’ coach for 14 years, and quarterback Geno Smith, who spent six years in Seattle.
