WASHINGTON — President Trump signed an executive order Friday seeking to restore the Department of Defense’s name to the “Department of War.” “I think it sends a message of victory,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “It’s a very important change because it’s an attitude.”

The White House will install the Department of War as a “secondary name” to get around Trump’s inability to actually rename the agency.

Donald Trump insisted that he and his team are “gonna change the name” of the Defense Department. As it turns out, he's rebranding it instead.
