Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) on Monday condemned social media posts from her colleague Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) spreading unfounded claims about the man suspected of killing a Minnesota Democratic

U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican in Utah, was confronted about a tweet he made in the aftermath of the assassination of Minnesota Democrats.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Klobuchar says Lee’s tweets make light of the fatal shooting.. including one calling the situation a “Nightmare on Waltz Street” she says she plans to confront him directly about the issue.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) finally bowed to pressure on Tuesday and removed social media posts in which he appeared to mock the murder of a prominent Minnesota Democrat and her husband and the wounding of another state Democrat and his wife.

After Utah Sen. Mike Lee promoted right-wing conspiracy theories about the man who killed Melissa Hortman and her husband, a senior staffer for Sen. Tina Smith wrote a blistering email to Lee’s staff.

In an interview with MSNBC, Sen. Klobuchar says Lee’s tweets make light of the fatal shooting including one calling the situation a “Nightmare on Waltz Street.” Sen. Tina Smith has already confronted Lee over “painful” and “brutal” comments.
