Bernabel is the first Rockie to win the award since center fielder Brenton Doyle won last July. Bernabel is Colorado’s first rookie to win since Nolan Jones on October 2, 2023.

The Colorado Rockies have placed closer Seth Halvorsen on the 15-day injured list due to a right elbow strain.

Halvorsen, who leads the Rockies with 11 saves, was facing Pirates pinch hitter Spencer Horwitz to open the ninth and Colorado leading 8-4. He was ahead 0-2 in the count and then threw three straight balls, the last one at 99 mph.
