Attention aurora chasers! Powerful geomagnetic storm conditions could trigger northern lights at mid-latitudes tonight as a coronal mass ejection impact is imminent.

No reports of northern lights visible from Chicago-area skies had come in by Monday, according to Chicago Astronomer Joe Guzman.

A coronal mass ejection from the sun resulted in a Sunday storm alert, followed by another one that will hit Earth on Monday.
