"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for south central Virginia," according to the NWS Blacksburg VA.

A severe thunderstorm watch was released by the NWS Wakefield VA on Saturday at 3:23 p.m. in effect until 10 p.m. The watch is for Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties.

There's a chance some of the thunderstorms could turn severe due to the daytime heating and moisture streaming in from the Gulf.
