Northeastern Arkansas saw a tornado emergency issued as a large twister hit Lake City. The tornado was a part of a storm sweeping from Texas to Ohio.

ARKANSAS, USA — Severe storms and tornadoes have been moving through the state on Wednesday night. At least three tornadoes have touched down around the state, including in Poinsett County, Lake City, and DeWitt. As of 8:15 p.m., nearly 37,000 people are without power.

Tornadoes ripped through portions of the South overnight, triggering widespread damage, coupled with fears of flooding.

Dangerous storms have caused widespread devastation across America's South and Midwest regions after powerful tornadoes ripped through several states on Wednesday. Lake City, Arkansas suffered some of the worst destruction as the National Weather Service issued the highest possible tornado warning.
