Butterball said in its 2025 Thanksgiving Outlook that 89 percent of Americans planned to celebrate Thanksgiving this year with a group of nine people. Only 28 percent of consumers expected inflation to change their plans this year, down from 53 percent in 2024, while more than half won’t make any changes at all, Butterball said in the report.

Although grocery prices have continued to climb in 2025, a Thanksgiving dinner will cost 2% to 3% less this year, one analysis found.

A reader-sourced correction pointed out that Walmart’s 2025 Thanksgiving meal includes only 15 items, compared to 21 last year.
