North Texas is bracing for multiple rounds of severe weather through the weekend, with threats of damaging winds, large hail and a low tornado risk as a stalled front moves into the region.
The day started relatively quiet, with a 20-30% chance of scattered showers between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. Storm activity started to increase in several areas of North Texas during the early evening hours.
A line of widespread storms will accompany a cold front Saturday afternoon, sending rain, hail and damaging winds into South Texas.
A powerful cold front is expected to move through the area on Saturday, bringing an increased chance of damaging gusts, flooding downpours, and even some small hail.
