Confidently sticking to its guns, Porsche went its own way to create one of the best cars on sale.

The 992.2 generation of the venerable GT3 has arrived, and its changes are more substantial than you might think.

No additional power thanks to emissions limitations, but sharper reactions and more comfortable.

The current, 992-generation Porsche 911 family is in the midst of its ‘992.2’ mid-life update phase, which began with the hybrid  911 Carrera GTS and standard 911 Carrera. Soon enough the 911 Turbo will be getting its own glow-up.

It comes at the same time as the GT3 Touring is also updated, with a predictably stiff increase in list price to £157,300. Both the Touring and the winged GT3 are the same price. Pros: Pin-sharp handling, supportive seats, incredible high-speed grip

This is our first experience behind the wheel of the newly updated, 992.2 generation 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring. From launch, it’s available in two body styles: the familiar, winged 911 GT3 form, and the more understated 911 GT3 Touring style, with its cleaner body and deleted rear spoiler.

No other offering holds a candle to Porsche’s visceral 911 GT3. Eschewing turbochargers, hybrid systems and unnecessary computerised complexities, the GT3 has an unfiltered, organic quality that sets it apart from the pack.
