LSU football will play its final game in Tiger Stadium in Week 13 vs Western Kentucky and hope to go out with a bang.

Interim Tigers coach Frank Wilson announced Thursday that Nussmeier was out and Michael Van Buren would start against Western Kentucky. Nussmeier has been dealing with an abdominal injury all season and aggravated the injury a week ago. That paved the way for Van Buren to start the first game of his LSU career against Arkansas.

Middle Tennessee State football dropped its seventh game in a row and seventh in a row to Western Kentucky on Nov. 15.

Vattiato suffered an undisclosed injury during the Blue Raiders' 56-30 home loss to FIU on Nov. 8. He was replaced early in the fourth quarter by Roman Gagliano, who went 7-of-16 for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Garrett Nussmeier is doubtful to play against Western Kentucky and it's uncertain if he'll play again this season.
