It was a quiet, rainy night Thursday outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in South Portland as demonstrators waited on a decision expected Friday from U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut on an injunction barring deployment of National Guard troops in the city.
On Thursday afternoon, nearly 100 community members lined up around the school campus to watch for ICE activity during pickup.
