Lawrence Bishnoi gang had plans to kill Aftab Poonawala, who is presently on trial for the gruesome murder of his girlfriend, Shraddha Walkar.

Aftab Poonawala, who allegedly killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar in 2022, was reportedly on the target list of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Mumbai: The Tihar Jail administration has heightened security around Aftab Poonawala, the accused in the Shraddha Walkar murder case, after receiving intelligence inputs suggesting that he may be on the radar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

An investigation into the murder of politician Baba Siddique led to the discovery of the gang’s plans to ‘target’ Aftab Poonawala, which was later dropped given his heightened security.

Shiva Kumar, the main shooter in Baba Siddique's killing, reportedly revealed that Shubham Lonkar, a Bishnoi gang member, had discussed attacking Poonawalla.

In May 2022, Aftab Poonawala, Walkar's live-in-partner, allegedly strangled her to death. He then chopped her body into 35 pieces.
