British counter-terrorism police have obtained warrants to further detain seven Iranian nationals arrested on Saturday in two separate investigations.

LONDON (Reuters) -British counter-terrorism police have arrested eight men including seven Iranians in two separate operations, officers said, in what the interior minister called some of the biggest investigations of their kind in recent years.

Four men are continuing to be questioned by police over an alleged terror plot in the UK. The men, who are Iranian nationals, are being held over an alleged plan to target "a specific premises", the Metropolitan Police said.
