State and city officials are urging residents to stay off flooded roads, and follow evacuation and emergency instructions as a Kona low brings heavy rain, dangerous flooding and damage.

Gov. Josh Green, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi and Hawaii emergency management leaders are providing an update to the statewide response to the second round of the Kona low storm system pummeling the Hawaiian Islands.

Heavy rain from the second Kona storm floods areas across the state, resulting in multiple road and bridge closures, the City and County of Honolulu reported on March 20.

Heavy rain, thunderstorms and potentially damaging winds are expected.
