CHARLOTTE — Police are searching for a suspect in an interstate shooting that happened in north Charlotte on Friday. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said shots were fired on I-85 at the I-77 interchange near Beatties Ford Road Friday morning.

The driver of the Honda, Aaron Sipf, 32, was arrested and transported into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He is being charged with two counts of felony hit-and-run and one count of resisting an officer, according to the sheriff’s office.

One person was hurt after a shooting in north Charlotte overnight Tuesday, MEDIC said. Our Channel 9 photographer spotted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and MEDIC at the scene on Steeple View Lane just after midnight.

A person was shot and killed in north east Charlotte Wednesday night. Medic says it happened on Catalina Avenue near the intersection of W. 28th Street. The victim was pronounced dead on scene. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the shooting as a homicide.
