Secretary of State Marco Rubio added that "this war is end-able", and called the missile attack on Ukraine's capital "horrible". Trump is asked if he stands by his earlier assertions that Ukraine has to give territory to secure pace, including Crimea. "It depends what territory," Trump replies, adding: "we'll do the best we can".

Trump has been accusing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of prolonging the war by resisting negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
