Earlier this week, two days after the Houston Texans’ season ended in Kansas City, quarterback C.J. Stroud reflected on his second season. He talked about how grateful he was to win two playoff games in his first two years in the NFL and how much his team had accomplished.

Stroud completed 19 of 28 passes for 245 yards without a touchdown or an interception in Saturday's 23-14 divisional-round loss to Kansas City. He added 42 rushing yards on six carries. The story of the game was the Texans;

Stroud was drafted by the Texans in 2023 and signed a 4-year, $36,279,243 fully guaranteed contract that came with a generous signing bonus of $23,384,904. His base salary in 2024 was somewhat low at $915,000. He was also paid a roster bonus of $1,484,057 which made his total pay for the season $2,399,057.

The Chiefs recorded eight sacks and hit Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud six other times. George Karlaftis had three of the sacks.

Kansas City’s defense proved to be the deciding factor, sacking Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud eight times. Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis led the way with three of those sacks.
