Protesters clashed with law enforcement in Minneapolis Thursday after the fatal shooting of a US woman further deepened the divide over President Donald Trump's deployment of federal forces to crack down on illegal immigration.

A protest organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation attracted more than 200 people who came out despite the wet, cold evening. Many carried signs with pictures of Renee Good, the former Kansas City woman fatally shot by a U.

Protesters have yelled expletives, blown whistles, thrown snowballs and blocked ICE vehicles as officers hunted down those with deportation orders, or questioned those believed to be unlawfully in the country. Officers have at times responded violently.

A federal judge grilled a U.S. Justice Department lawyer repeatedly Tuesday about the “suspicious” timing of the government’s request for information about police enforcement during immigration protests in Portland following a conservative influencer’s call to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and her assistant after his arrest.
