The House on Thursday passed the signature piece of legislation of President Trump's second term, approving his "big, beautiful bill" by a vote of 218 to 214.

The House passed President Donald Trump’s massive tax and immigration bill in a 218-214 vote Thursday, one day before the Republicans’ self-imposed July 4 deadline. Two Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (Kentucky) and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania) — voted against the bill.

Republican Rep. Addison McDowell of Bermuda Run said on X: “I just voted to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill, just in time for Independence Day! This bill is the course correction our country needs, and it will soon be the law of the land.”
