Offering local and hyper-local, Medina-made items, Acme's Medina store is opening for the first time at 7 a.m. on Aug. 7.

Acme's first hiring event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, at the Medina Community Recreation Center, 855 Weymouth Road in Medina, Swartz said.

An 80-year-old Akron man was struck and killed Wednesday evening in an Acme Fresh Market parking lot in Coventry Township, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
