A 25-year-old man was arrested in New Orleans for illegally possessing a live alligator, a handgun, and marijuana.

The alligator was turned over to an on-call wildlife biologist. The man was also arrested on unrelated charges.

Eurell D. Johnson, 25, was arrested in New Orleans for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, marijuana, and a live alligator.

LDWF agents arrested a New Roads man carrying a 3-4 foot live alligator down Bourbon Street on Valentine's Day. He also had a firearm and marijuana. The gator was turned over to wildlife officials.
