The Mets have hit rock bottom. Relying on David Peterson to throw seven innings every 5-6 days while the rest of the rotation only goes five innings clearly isn’t an effective plan. But then again, nearly getting no-hit is also a pretty ineffective plan.

The boos began to cascade down from the peaks of Citi Field in the bottom of the sixth inning and continued with each passing Mets at-bat.

NEW YORK — For the first time since Citi Field opened in April of 2009, the Guardians won a game on the Mets’ home turf. It took extra innings, but the Guardians accomplished the feat by scoring twice in the 10th inning for a 7-6 win over the Mets on Monday night. The Guardians have won 17 of their last 24 games.
