Hurricane Erin prompts high surf advisory, coastal flood advisory at New Hampshire coastline
Hurricane Erin is making its closest pass hundreds of miles off the New Hampshire coast early Friday morning.As of the latest advisory, Hurricane Erin was a Category 1 storm with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph.
A state of emergency has been declared in New Jersey and a coastal flood warning is in effect for the Jersey Shore as Hurricane Erin causes dangerous conditions.

Hurricane Erin will continue to move away from the East Coast as high pressure will work its way in from the west. A high surf advisory remains in effect through Friday night
A High Surf Advisory is in place along much of the immediate coast, stretching from southern-facing areas like New Bedford up to Gloucester on the North Shore. The advisory warns of large breaking waves up to 20 feet in the surf zone. Conditions will be most intense in those southern-facing areas, forecasters said.
