Minnesota regulators hold lotteries for business licenses, giving greenlight for some industry hopefuls to move forward two years after legalization.

Applicants selected will not immediately receive a full license, but can move forward with the final stages of setting up their businesses.

The lottery begins at 11 a.m. Thursday and will first give retail sales to social equity applicants. That group represents people of color, veterans and people who have been convicted of low-level marijuana offenses.
