On Sunday at 9:26 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the NWS Raleigh NC in effect until 10:15 p.m. The warning is for Davidson, Guilford and Randolph counties.

While a lot of Sunday was warm and humid with a partly sunny sky, our forecast for a few thunderstorms with one or two being severe certainly came to fruition.

MET ÉIREANN HAS issued a Status Orange rain and thunderstorm warning for Dublin, Louth and Meath, with persistent and heavy rain expected. The warning kicks in at midnight and will last until 2pm on Monday afternoon.

The NWS Blacksburg VA released a severe thunderstorm warning at 8:27 p.m. on Sunday in effect until 9:30 p.m. for Rockingham and Stokes counties.

State media in Vietnam have reported that 34 people were killed after a boat carrying tourists capsized during a sudden thunderstorm. Eight people remain missing.

The intense rainfall there started about 5:24 a.m. and lasted until 6:49 a.m., weather service meteorologist Sarah Johnson said. The rain flooded streets in Sea Girt, Manasquan and elsewhere.

A thunderstorm warning is in place for parts of Northern Ireland from Sunday afternoon.The Met Office is forecasting thunderstorms in counties Londonderry, Tyrone and Fermanagh. The warning is in place until 20:00 BST on Sunday.
