Colorado’s West Nile season started early this year, with mosquitoes testing positive for the virus in Denver, Boulder and Weld counties.

Last year saw 69 cases across the state, including six in Lake County, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Health department officials in Adams County said two people have confirmed cases of West Nile Virus. The people contracted the virus in late June, the Adams County Health Department said in a release. The health department did not disclose if the people infected had or have symptoms, or if they had to be hospitalized.
