The world’s largest video platform has told content moderators to favor “freedom of expression” over the risk of harm in deciding what to take down.

The platform now lets videos stay online if ‘freedom of expression value may outweigh harm risk,’ according to The New York Times.

Under the new rules, some YouTube videos that would have previously been removed for promoting misinformation can now remain on the platform. YouTube is reportedly giving creators more leeway about what they say in videos,
