ATLANTA – Spencer Strider thought it was a foul ball. Jorbit Vivas seemed to think he could advance to third base unchallenged. And Ronald Acuña Jr. again did what would be deemed the unthinkable for most players.

But Acuña was positioned perfectly with a flat-footed throw for the ages to third baseman Nacho Alvarez Jr. that surprised Vivas – as well as everyone at Truist Park – to complete the spectacular sequence.
