Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe insisted that the Magpies are still waiting for a formal offer for notable Liverpool target Alexander Isak. The Premier League champions were reportedly tipped to make a record-breaking bid for Isak in the region of £120 million ($160 million) in the middle of July.

Eddie Howe has admitted that Alexander Isak’s Newcastle United future is not in his “full control”. Isak has made clear he wants to leave the club this summer with Liverpool previously communicating their interest in a move for the 25-year-old.

The expectation from within is that Alexander Isak will be told to report back to training and play in either the Espanyol game or clash with Atletico Madrid. But Newcastle are still very much active in their attempts to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford - although the DR Congo man's fight to leave lies in Brentford's hands.
