American Airlines suffered a widespread outage with its flight information computer system, authorities with two affected airports told CNN.

The flight returned to the Vegas airport at 8:20 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The aircraft landed safely and there were no injures reported, a Harry Reid International Airport spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY.

American Airlines flights have resumed after a system outage grounded flights. Multiple reports on social media said planes were unable to take off because of technical problems. According to reports on X, one pilot said he couldn't sign the maintenance form to be cleared for takeoff because his computer was not working.
